Day 74: Okanagon Lake and Getting Closer to Jasper

Osoyoos, BC through Kelowna to Kamloops, BC

188.36 Miles | 4:17 Riding Time

It’s Sunday, June 23, 2024, and it’s Day 74 of my cross country motorcycle trip.

One of the nicest parts of this trip has been meeting new—mostly random—people along the way. Today, however, I had the pleasure of meeting the friend and colleague of my brother-in-law. Andrew has worked with Scott (Scott is my BIL) for quite a few years, at three different companies. We met up at the Lakeside Dining Room at the Hotel El Dorado in Kelowna, BC. Brunch was very good, and the location was amazing. It was great to meet him, and put a face to the name of someone Scott speaks so highly of. Thanks for making the time, Andrew.

The rest of the ride up to Kamloops was pretty, and I stayed at the Plaza Hotel—an historic hotel in downtown Kamloops. While there are a number of pretty negative reviews, my experience there was good. Tomorrow, I’m excited to head over to Jasper, and into the national parks.
