Day 49: I Walked Among the Redwoods at Muir Woods

Mill Valley, CA to Muir Woods, up the PCH, and along the Russian River to Windsor, CA

91 Miles | 3:00 Riding Time

It’s Wednesday, May 29, 2024, and it’s Day 49 of my cross country motorcycle trip.

It wasn’t a long day of riding, but it was a beautiful day of traveling. Scott and I started off by taking the short trip to Muir Woods. The road coming down from the Panoramic Highway to the park was wild—a steep, narrow and twisty downhill.

We stopped at the visitors center, and I got my National Park Passport stamp and stickers, and walked through the park. It was so quiet and peaceful—especially the “cathedral” section, where they had a sign that said, “please enter quietly.”

Back on the PCH, we stopped at the Muir Woods Beach overlook and took a few photos. Then, it was all PCH until we turned off near Jenner, CA onto RT-116 through Guerneville and into Windsor for the night. Dinner at Grata Italian Eatery was amazing. I had Cacio e Pepe, and Scott had the Chicken Parmesan—both delicious. A short walk back to the hotel for the night.
