Today is Monday, May 6, 2024, and it’s Day 26 of my cross country motorcycle trip.

Ok Colorado, this isn’t funny. High wind advisories from Denver to Pueblo. Even some highway sections were just closed because of the high winds. 45 mph - 55 mph gusts—coming from the west. I checked with my hotel in Denver, and they were sold out for tonight. And, looking at the Colorado Department of Transportation website, most of the really great roads I want to ride are still closed, or are requiring chains (I don’t have chains for my bike).

So…I’m changing plans. Heading south to Pagosa Springs and Durango. Going to visit with friends in Pagosa Springs, then, take the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge steam train to Silverton and then head over to Utah. I’ll revisit the Colorado roads later in the season.

Dinner at Rockyard Brewery, which was good. Chatted with a guy who lived in Dallas right near where Donette and I lived. All the best to you and your wife, my friend.
